October 2010:  (Then Cllr) Karen Chilvers and County Cllr David Kendall visit Highways Agency in Bedford to present results of survey, a 94-signature strong petition and ask for action.

February 2011: Highways Agency continually chased for outcome of bidding rounds for action.

September 2011: Formal request put in to Highways Agency for information on progress of mitigation measures.

October 2011: Response received stating that investigations are underway.

The timing plan

March 2012: Investigations into first priority locations will be completed.

April 2012: Informal Consultations

Autumn 2012: Bidding rounds

If funding is granted:

2013/4: Scheme designs

2014/5: Possible implementation

SO THAT IS ALMOST EIGHT YEARS TO GET MITIGATION MEASURES IMPLEMENTED.

THIS IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
